Tokyo, Meiji 22, (April 1889), 79 orig. ink drawings of (parts of) birds, so-called hanshita-e (orig. drawings for woodblock printed book), on Japanese paper, all approx. 27 x 37 cm, all mounted on orig. large sheets of Japanese paper measuring 32.5 x 44.5 cm, together loose in wooden box (1x framed). Also incl. some lvs w. text in Japanese. A very fine series; a similar but larger collection with exactly the same date and other details was auctioned by Sotheby's in 1999.
