Marten Toonder - Correspondence

Correspondence dhr. Philips and Marten Toonder. Consisting of letters from this admirer, and the yearly request to make a greeting card with 8 answers by Toonder. Including the cards made by this collector.

*Most notes are short with permission by Toonder for publication of cards with images drawn by him. Several are more elaborate, such as the card from 1999, on which he writes "Uw keuze van kaart verraste me; het is een halve eeuw geleden dat ik die prent maakte voor een Engelse uitgave. Dat boekje is herdrukt, en ik vraag me af waar u die reproductie vanf hebt kunnen maken." Particularly noteworthy is the last note, from 2005, with a post-it from his grandson. On it he writes that the note concerns a written reply to the request for a last card by Mr. Philips. It is an "OK" written in a trembling hand with signature. Both men passed away several months later.
