[Gold] Shaped gold clasp and catch

Weighed separately from the binding (now detached, but w. two tiny cotter pins intact) at around 18.10 grams, tested as higher than 18 carat gold (specialist evaluation suggests around 20 carat). The clasp shows indentations on both flat sides, attributed to its hollow construction and the exceptional purity of the gold. On: Bijbel, dat is De gansche Heylige Schrift (...). Amst. etc., Nederlandsche Bijbel-Compagnie etc., 1849, contemp. mor., a.e.g., thick sm. 8vo. Bookblock almost loose, not collated.
