[Japan] Ceramic Daruma sculptures, lot of three: (1) Edo period, ca. 1850-1860
Height 28.5 cm. (2) Meiji period, ca. 1880-1900. Height 20.5 cm, with minor paint chipping. (3) 19th cent., mounted on wood, height 11 cm. Added: (4) Edo period, ca. 1820-1830, ceramic Buddha statue seated on a horse. Damage to Buddha's feet and one of the horse's ears, along with minor chips in the ceramic.
All sculptures show signs of age and wear. First three modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism. (total 4)
