A bit foxed, binding some imperfections at extremities. Very rare first edition of this travel account that was (unusually enough for that time) undertaken by a woman, born in 1788 in a prosperous family. She took several more trips, alone and later with her son, and continued to write throughout a long career, living to age 94.
