From 1968 to around 1988, the Fluxus artist Dieter Roth made a few "Taschenzimmers" every year. Dobke, Werkverzeichnis, 1968.42; Dobke, Dieter Roth Books + Multiples p.16 and 25. "The widest circulation of any of his multiples was achieved by the 'Taschenzimmer' [Pocket Room], which was available from 1968 onward (...). A transitory object made to fit snugly into one's trouser pocket, it consisted of a card bearing a rubbed stamped picture of a table inside a playing card box, with a slice of banana pressed onto the card. Set within this 'frame', the banana was free to moulder on the table and gradually disintegrate (...)" (p.16).
