Plate "West Indis Huys" lacks sm. portion of upper corner, waterst. at the end, some other internal and external imperfections. A good copy, w. heraldic bookplate of Robert Bristow on upper pastedown and his owner's entry in pen "Robert Bristow Broxmade August 26th 1881" on first free endpaper. Also w. nice annotation on upper pastedown: "Gekocht van Stephen Swart van Amstel (...) F. 1:10:- 1682". Stephen Swart (1641-1683) was an Amsterdam printer and bookseller "at the Crowned Bible, on the west-side of the Exchange", who printed a number of English language works. See P.G.
