Ball games, four 18/19th cent. drawings/ engravings

(1) "Alles in alles." Original drawing of a jeu de boules in a Dutch town by anonymous artist. 19th cent. Ink and aquarel, 28 x 38.5 cm. Foxing and a few imperfections in plate. The game appears to be Petanque or Jeu provençal, of which this would be a very early depiction. (2) Le jeu de courte boule. Ca. 1775. Engr. by P. Benazech, after A. van Ostade, 33.5 x 43 cm. (3) Le jeu de quilles. 1743. Engr. by A. Laurent, after D. Teniers, 25.5 x 35 cm. (4) Jeu de mail Flamand. Ca. 1750 Handcol. engr. by L. Surugue, after D. Teniers, 23 x 34 cm.
