Nouveaux Réalistes. Two items: (1) César (César Baldaccini) (1921-1998). Index finger

Cast brass, consisting of a cast life-size index finger loosely inserted in holder, total length 22 cm, 1973. The finger numb. 37/600 at the bottom, its brass holder is signed with César, marked Fonderia Valcamonica Visigalli Milano and monogrammed MKA on the lower side. It is placed in a special pocket of the "Valise des Nouveaux Réalistes" by Attilio Codognato and Giorgio Barutti, a leather suitcase measuring 60 x 53.5 x 14.5 cm w. attached paper label "N.R." The leather of the suitcase shows signs of drying and wear along the edges and handle. Also included: (2) Gérard Deschamps (b. 1937). Untitled. Steel plate hand-treated w. flames (each copy unique), 50 x 50 cm, 1973, signed and "63-73" on the plate, in paper envelope. The suitcase was issued in a limited edition of 600 numb. copies by Ars Viva in 1973, containing 11 different items. This lot includes onl the two art works mentioned.
