Three various glass vases: (1) Square blank glass vase
23 x 16 x 8 cm, dec. w. soldiers in relief below etched hands (some making the 'V' sign) while flowers are cast in the air. Signed and dated 'R. Ulman 1990' in lower edge of side, Kamenickí Šenov, Czech Republic. In November 1989, Czechoslovakia (again) became a liberal democracy through the Velvet Revolution. On 31 December 1992, the country peacefully split into the independent countries of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Our fine piece is a rare example in glass reflecting that period. (2) Vase w. joyful dancing figures. Etched dark brown glass, height 25 cm, signed 'Fea' (or Lea?) at the base. -and 1 other, large vase by V. Volkova (1993).
