Jean Charles Pabst (1873-1942) was a KNIL officer and diplomat. He started out as a military attaché in Beijing and Tokyo, became an inspector of the artillery Pabst and was Dutch consul in Japan from 1923 until WWII commenced in 1941. He died of a heart attack shortly after the war started. Pabst was also an enthusiastic scholar and collector of all kind of rare books about Indonesia. (total 9)
