Rare. Best edition of a poem on the characteristics of animals, based on Aelian and Oppian, by the Byzantine writer Manuel Philes (ca. 1275-1340). The original Greek text is accompanied by the Latin translation by Bersman (first published in 1596) and commentary of De Pauw. The work is dedicated to the later Leyden University librarian Abr. Gronovius.
