Poster for the iconic 'Dada-fieldtrip' held by Theo and Nelly van Doesburg, Kurt Schwitters and Vilmos Huszár throughout The Netherlands in December 1922 and early 1923. Featured is the event program of the tour, in dadaist typography, listing ragtime music by Erik Satie, abstract poetry by Schwitters, and 'Dadasofie' by van Doesburg, intertwined with multilingual slogans, such as 'Dada est contre le futur, Dada est mort, Dada est idiot, vive Dada!'.
This copy is the first version for the event at the Haagsche Kunstkring in The Hague, the address and year are shown in the upper right corner. Mounted on black board, 33 x 33 cm, glued with two tips on the upper corners. Folded in eight parts, moderate rubbing on folds, small abrasion in centre fold, abrasions in lower left vertical fold and centre right fold (both 4 cm), light staining in upper right section, else a fine copy.
