[Zaanstreek. Bindings] Besondere Privilegien ende Handvesten

Zaandam, J. Jacobsz., 1661, (8),546,(21)p., cont. richly blindst. panelled calf, ribbed spine, 2 engr. brass clasps and catches, 4to.

With the bookplate of Gerrit Jan van Orden (Oost-Zaandam 1774-1854), nicknamed "immen keunink" (king of the bees), for being a succesful bee-keeper. His bookplate represents the ancient paper-mill at Schoorl, of which he was a fellow. A remarkably well-preserved copy, a fine example of a 17th century bookbinding (free endpapers w. foolscap watermark), and holding a very rare work as well.
