Black wash, each 42 x 38 cm. All signed "Frank Moser" in lower margin, all titled "Family wash" (1x in pen and 2x in pencil) in upper blank margin. One lower blank corner lacking a small piece. With: Idem (attributed). Notebook, (1),17,(1) lvs w. pencil annotations of texts for cartoons, three sketches in the text, the second leaf w. printed letterhead of Fables Pictures, Inc. and dated "Thursday Sept. 23 - 1937" in pencil at the top, leaf 17 dated "Tue. Oct. 12 1937", folio size. First and final two lvs loose. Story of a small boy imagining that he is a cowboy chasing the criminal Rusty the Rat, spurred on by competition offering a reward of 5000$ for his capture.
Frank H. Moser, American artist, illustrator and film director who co-founded Terrytoons, the animated cartoon films. Between 1916 and 1937 he directed 202 films. (total 4)
