Gilbert & George. The Bar and Art Notes and Thoughts
Two super rare announcement cards conceived by the artists. (1) The Bar. A New Sculpture by George and Gilbert. London, Anthony d'Offay, 1972. Folded card, 16.5 x 11.5 cm, 6 pp. With tipped-in photographic image captioned 'A Day of Pleasure', showing George in a doorway demonstrating the effects of intoxication. Invitation card to the exhibition at Anthony D’Offay, which opened simultaneously with two other shows in London (Situation and Nigel Greenwood), all related to drinking at Ball’s Brothers Wine Bar in Bethnal Green.
