Montevideo, Self-published, 1969- 1970. Softcover, staple bound, 24 x 15.5 cm, 12 pp. Ovum 10 was a Latin American assembling magazine of experimental poetry founded and edited by Clemente Padín. Ten numbers were published between 1969 and 1972, printed in approx. 500 copies. All booklets with moderate toning, else good.
(1) No.1, 1969. Visual poetry and essays in Spanish by Padin (manifest 'La Nueva Poesia'), Moacy Cirne, Edgardo Antonio Vigo, Julien Blaine, Michele Perfetti, Carlo Sitta, Vincenze Accame et al. The cover by Padin features a hand-mounted colour image of a carpet fragment, varying from copy to copy. (2) No.2, March 1970. Features a 'destructive tool' by Padin (a pin stuck through p. 2), a burned hole by Adriano Spatalo (Fuego), and contributions by Alain Arias-Misson (cover picture), Julien Blaine, Eugenio Miccini, Jochen Gerz, Guillermo Deisler et al. (3) No.3 June 1970. Contributions by Gianni Bertini (cover), Mirella Bentivoglio, Luigi Ferro, Milan Grygar, Richard Kostelanetz, Ketty La Rocca, Clemente Padin, Luciano Ori et al. (total 3). In the 1960s and 1970s the Uruguayan artist and poet Clemente Padín (b. 1939) organized important exhibitions dedicated to visual poetry and mail art, and published several magazines including Los Huevos de Plata (1965–1969), Ovum 10 (1969–1972) and Ovum (1972–1975).
