Marginal foxing, in good condition. Noteworthy detail: according to contemporary rumours, Regoor was paid to marry Maria Heijsterborg who was said to have borne an illegitimate child of King Willem III. He is believed to have officially acknowledged this child as his. It is further reported that Regoor, the King's personal fencing instructor, dedicated this work to King Willem III. In July 1875, he was admitted to an asylum in The Hague where he died approx. one year later.
