Dwan Gallery (1959-1971) was one of the most important galleries of the postwar period in the U.S. Founded by Virginia Dwan (1931-2022) in a Los Angeles storefront in 1959, it was followed by a second space in New York City in 1965. Dwan presented groundbreaking exhibitions and projects by Kienholz, Yves Klein, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Smithson, Michael Heizer et al.
