*The Wettbewerb Gross-Berlin was a landmark architectural competition aimed at unifying the Greater Berlin area, then still a patchwork of towns and villages, and creating a monumental city centre "whose distinctive character [would be] decisive for the image that citizens and foreigners should carry in their hearts." The projects reflect a broad range of urban visions, incl. monuments designs for the "Köningsplatz" (now Platz der Republik). Very rare.
