W. engr. title-vignette, cont. blindst. polished calf, both covers w. 5 brass bosses, four (of 8) brass cornerpieces and 1 brass strip (of 4) on lower edge of back cover, thumb-index of 7 protruding cloth slips, horizontal leather straps at top and foot compartment of spine (intentionally left exposed by the binder). Large folio (48 x 32 cm). Waterst. in lower blank margin throughout, partly in upper outer corner (a bit mouldy at the end) and a few lvs in outer blank margin (these lvs also sl. frayed). First few lvs w. hole in inner blank margin from leather binding strip. Lacking free endpapers, clasp and catches, binding dam. at edges of covers. Joints split but good holding on cords.
Extremely rare edition, no copies traced in OCLC or elsewhere. This copy with many manuscript corrections (sometimes extensive) on paper strips pasted over the original passages, giving an insight in the perhaps obligatory but possibly locally dictated changes in the scores and in the text.
