British Museum description: "Social satire: a shoe shine blackens the stockings of his customer who stands reading a paper. September 1817. Hand-coloured lithograph." (2) "Trois mois d'absence. Ou la Séparation douloureuse." Handcol. etching, 21 x 24 cm, n.d. (1817), w. caption, address of Martinet ("Rue du Coq No. 15") and "Deposée &" below the image. Very good copy on laid paper w. ample margins. British museum description. "Satire on the Calicot wars: a soldier takes a Calicot off to the war, leaving a weeping wife behind while a monkey tries on his boots and spurs. September 1817. Hand-coloured etching." -and 4 others, incl. 1 other issued by Martinet ("Énigmes Chinoises. Le mot d'une énigeme", dated 1818). Added: 2 others.
