Three drawings and a print: (1) "Paulus Vincent en Barbara Jansen, Woonagtig te Sassem"
Drawing in grey ink, grey wash, after the print (1794) by Izaak Jansz. de Wit (1744-1809). 23 x 25 cm. Monogrammed "LR" in lower right corner, w. caption and 8-line poem below the image. Evenly browned. The Rijksmuseum decription of the print: "Het echtpaar is afgebeeld wegens hun hoge leeftijd: op het moment van de vervaardiging van de prent in 1794 is Paulus Vincent 104 jaar oud en Barbara Jansen 102 jaar oud." (2) V.J. van der Haer (ca. 1800). "De Scheeps Bouwmeester". Drawing in pen and black ink, cont. copy after the mezzotint of equal size (1802) by Charles Howard Hodges (1776-1837) based on the painting by Rembrandt (1633). 40 x 55 cm. Signed and dated "V.D. Haer F. 1807" in lower right corner. Mounted at upper margin. Light surface wear, a few thin spots and minor stains. Verso signed and dated "V.J. van der Haer J.A. Zn. Anno 1806 & 1807" and w. description in pen: "(...) waarvan het capitaal schilderij berust in het cabinet van de Heer R. de Smeth à Amsterdam (...). Den 2e Aug. 1810 verkogt op deszelf. verkoping te Amst.m. voor de somma van f. 16500,- & gekogt door de Heer La Fontaine van Parijs." A mediocre copy of the print is also present in the lot. -and 2 others: a 19th cent. anonymous portrait of Jacoba van Beieren after a 15th cent. painting in the Rijksmuseum (w accomp. card dep. the painting), and a large 19th cent. drawing dep. (according to an annotation in pencil verso) "Pierre le Turc [Le Turcq, real name Ghyslain du Plessis, see Wikipedia] Pirate of Flissingue 1783".
