American early 20th century erotic ephemera, lot of 28
Collection characterized by cheeky and explicit humour. Includes: a menu card from the infamously named 'The Cock & Cunt Cafe', a tongue-in-cheek 'Pussy Ration Card', a spoof advertising booklet titled 'An Advertising and Merchandising Plan for the Great Gap Lace Drawers co, Inc., Maine, 1819-1929. 8 p. In the latter, the author recounts that in his door-to-door research in Topeka (Kansas), he asked 292 women "Pardon me, madam, but do you wear drawers" to which all 292 (mischievously) replied, "No, come on in". He wryly concludes that this outcome 'proves beyond a doubt that Topeka is some town.' -and 26 other cards and novelty paper gadgets brimming with saucy wit.
