Fabiola (pseud. Peter Alexander van Linden, 1946-2013). Dagboek
Van Piet voor Jan. Nos. 1-27, lacking only nos. 13, 21 and 26, of which no. 13 was likely never published. Amst., 1985-87. Publ. in a very limited edition (approx. 20 copies). Made w. var. techniques and many handcrafted elements, incl. a.o. many montages, no. 12 in handpainted plastic bag, no. 18 in decorated box w. inside a montage featuring a marble and a cloth peg and no. 25 incl. a styrofoam object dec. w. col. plastic and glass, designs by Han Jansen, most signed by Fabiola. The work is far from a traditional diary, instead Fabiola writes about social issues (squatting, anti-fascism and homosexuality feature prominently) and recounts forms of activism in which she participated. Many of the issues are dedicated to a specific theme, such as: no. 15 to the Aidsfonds, no. 25 to the death of punker Mark Poyé and no. 27 to the Nazi ties of the Catholic church. Due to the handcrafted nature of the objects, each copy is unique and sometimes incl. major variations w. other known copies. Also incl. two audio cassettes and one unidentified no. of Dagboek (possibly part of no. 16?)
Mostly in very fine condition, only front cover of no. 9 detached and occas. sm. scuff marks. Extremely rare, no other copies traced of nos. 1-3 and 14. *Fabiola was a renowned performance/ body art artist in Amsterdam. He was known for his extravagant clothing, often wearing vibrant dresses, headpieces, umbrellas, etc. and wrapped in coloured foil. He performed under the nickname "Flikker" and was often involved in squatting and LGBTQ+ activism. (total 27)
