[Wayang topeng] Head of a monster with movable jaws
Made of painted wood and w. batik cloth robe, 35 x 24 x 23 cm, signed B. Arais on the inside. Java, first half 20th cent. Slightly worn, some paint lacking. A beautiful, large example of a figure used in Wayang topeng plays. Together with a Wayang topeng mask dep. the face of a monkey.
