Var. sizes and countries of origin, first and second half of the 20th cent., w. painted papier mache or carved wooden heads, wooden or cloth hands, all w. wooden legs an fully clothed. Occas. defects (one w. cracked head), generally in good condition. Comprises a.o. a devil, death w. gallows, a black man with hat, Jan Klaassen and friends, military figures etc. Added: a col. lithogr. hardboard puppet theatre from the 1930s (63.5 x 47 x 21 cm) and a pair of painted and carved wooden puppets in Dutch traditional dress.
