Apart from the handcolouring, this copy is interesting for its num. 19th cent. annots. in pen in the text and on some loosely inserted lvs. The copy also contains an envelope w. "Papieren behorende bij Van Goor - bijgewerkt door Van Hall, van Mevrouw Ingen Housz", and a loose card annotated "Collectie Jan Ingen Housz. Provenance". Further enclosed are sixteen 18th- and 19th-century letters and documents, several with autograph signatures of Jan van Hoilten (alderman, 1524, see p. 219) and Severyn Montens (mayor, 1556, see p. 223), together with 4 receipts 1767-1768, signed by C.G. Knollaert, "Ontfanger van den 100 penning, brand-emmers, lantaarn en straatgeld der stad Breda"). Nijhoff/v. Hattum 110; Haitsma Mulier/v.d. Lem 184a. First and only edition; richly documented and still regarded as one of the best early descriptions of the town of Breda.
