N.E.O.N. Revue surréaliste, near complete set
Four issues (of five in total) of the journal published between 1948 and 1949, founded, directed and remarkably designed by the Czech poet and artist Jindrich Heisler (1918-1953). Includes No.1 (Jan 1948), No.2 (Feb 1948), No.3 (May 1948) and No.5 (undated ca. March 1949).
The first three issues (titled N’être rien, Être tout, Ouvrir l’être, Néant, Oubli, Être) were edited by Sarane Alexandrian, Jindrich Heisler, Vera Herold, Stanislas Rodanski, Claude Tarnaud. No.5 (titled Naviguer, Eveiller, Occulter Nacce, Oiseaux, Etui) was compiled by J.L. Bédouin, André Breton, Pierre Demarne, Jindrich Heisler and Benjamin Péret. Each issue consists of a large newssheet (62 x 82 cm) printed on both sides in black and folded to 31 x 20.5 cm, with collaged texts and graphic images by notable associates of the Surrealist movement such as Victor Brauner, Max Ernst, Julien Gracq, Jacques Herold, Alain Jouffroy, Frederick Kiesler, Benjamin Peret, Toyen.
