Jean Tinguely. Two Meta-Matic Drawings No. 8

Undated postcards (ca. 1972), 16.2 x 21 cm, published by the Moderna Museet Stockholm. Each features a felt-tip drawing (one in blue, one green and brown). Verso shows publisher's information and printed text (in Swedish) 'original drawing executed in collaboration with Jean Tinguely's 'Meta-Matic No. 8', with space for co-creator and the date (left blank in these copies).

Meta-Matic No. 8 (1959) is held in the Moderna Museet collection. The drawings were produced by an automated do-it-yourself drawing device designed by Tinguely, which could be operated by visitors. The blank cards were likely distributed to the public during the 1972 Tinguely's exhibition at the museum.
