Willem de Ridder. Early collages and scrapbook
(1) Four collages on decorated cardboard, 33.5 x 25.5 cm. Comprises two original b/w photos, a colour print of a tropical landscape, and a varnished colour pencil drawing titled 'Italy', each with an insect glued to the image. Undated (1969), signed 'Willem de Ridder' on rear. Rare unique pieces.
(2) Scrapbook, 38.5 x 26.5 cm, with collaged items in original cover of 'The Virgin Sperm Dancer (1972) published by de Ridder's avant-garde European sexpaper 'Suck'. Contains mounted magazine and newspaper clippings; drawings, paintings and letters (by fans); festival announcements (Wet Dreams), as well as some early Fluxus ephemera including the flyer for the Fluxus festival at De Kleine Komedie in Amsterdam in 1963; Spatial Poem No.5 bij Mieko Shiomi (1972); 3 large original b/w photos portraying de Ridder; exhibition catalogue/poster for Wim T. Schippers's Papierwerken at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam 1970; actual pages from The Virgin Sperm Dancer et al. (total 2)
