Angus MacLise (1938 -1979) was an American musician, poet, publisher, artist, and occultist, involved in the counterculture and Fluxus art scene in New York in the 1960s. He's also known as the first drummer of the Velvet Underground. With the New Universal Solar Calendar he created an alternative type of calendar that included new names for every day (day of the crooked spirit, day of the animal mind, day of the axe, day of discovering neverness, among others).
