Dutch East Indies: Archive prison director 1946-1952
Suitcase with private archive of more than 100 signed documents from 1948-1952 in Tjipinang prison in Mr. Cornelis (Jatinegara, in Jakarta). In original suitcase that belonged to a Dutch prison director.
Contains among other things:
- House rules for 'Tjipinang' prison in Mr. Cornelis, 32 p.
- Elementary school Boekoe Rapor/ Report book. Neatly used in 1950, belonged to the director's son.
- Institutional rules from 1946, sewn with paper cover, 26 p.: "In naam der Koningin, de gouverneur-generaal van nederlandsch-Indie, den Raad van nederlandsch-Indië gehoord: Allen die deze zullen zien of hooren lezen, Saluut!"
- 4 photos, two of which stamped with director stamps on back and text Rumah Pendjara Tjipinang, Djatinegara, from a press visit to the prison + a photo of the employees at the farewell to the manager, on account of his departure to Australia.
- Original pencil sketches from 1948 of a Lock in front of a prison door.
- A daily arrangement for the convicts in Tjipinang prison: 6-7, opening, bathing, breakfast, to the workshops, etc..
- An annual report from 1948 of Glodok prison.
- A report on the escape of several prisoners from the prison in 1946.
