On January 10th 1941, the German occupiers decreed that every person of Jewish descent needed to be registered, in total 157.000 such forms were filled in. Announcement of reprisals to be taken for the fight at IJssalon Koco, a shop that was run by two Jewish exiles, where a fight broke out during a police raid. The announcement mentions that 400 Jew will be taken prisoner and brought to concentration camps. This led to the first razzia in Amsterdam on 22 and 23 February 1941.
