Guggenheim. Nine Young Artists and Guggenheim International

(1) Nine Young Artists Theodoron Awards. New York, Guggenheim Museum, 1969. Staple-bound, 25.5 x 12 cm, 24 pp. Exhibition catalogue printed in an edition of 2000. Artists include Barry Flanagan, Gerhard Richter, John Walker, Gilberto Zorio, Dan Christensen, Bruce Nauman, James Seawright, Richard Serra, Peter Young. Texts and biographical notes by Edward F. Fry and Diane Waldman, introduction by Thomas M. Messer, with one b/w image of work by each artist, and loosely inserted checklist. Mild rubbing to coloured covers, otherwise very good.

(2) Guggenheim International Exhibition 1971. Silver slipcase box, 29 x 23.5 x 2 cm, housing a 43-page stapled booklet with yellow wrappers, and 21 folded sheets, each featuring an artist in the exhibition. Includes Antonio Dias, Daniel Buren, Hanne Darboven, Victor Burgin, Richard Long, Mario Merz, On Kawara, Jiro Takamatsu, Jan Dibbets, Carl Andre, Walter De Maria, Dan Flavin, Michael Heizer, Donald Judd, Joseph Kosuth, Sol LeWitt, Robert Morris, Bruce Nauman, Robert Ryman, Richard Serra and Lawrence Weiner. Buren's sheet shows an amazing red stripe work. His actual contribution in the show, a large b/w stripe canvas, was removed after the opening as it obstructed the view to surrounding works. Intricately designed box with hinge tear and corner wear, interior contents in excellent state. (total 2)
