American born artist Joel Fisher (1947), living in England, started his career making handmade paper pieces called ‘apographs’. Inspired by the distinct texture of each paper, he made works by enlarging a small detail (hair or fiber) and drawing it on the original paper. The drawing in this lot duplicates its shape from a small hair-figure that can be discovered somewhere in the centre left edge of the paper.
