Voyage dans le Midi par O. Fabrés. Orig. story in pen and ink, 8 lvs w. hand-coloured drawings in pen above short text, recto only. Orig. cord-bound wr. w. title, hand-col. illustration in pen, and dated 1930, 31.7 x 25.5 cm. Wrs. and first and final leaf foxed. Nice autobiographical record of a trip the illustrator made to southern France as advised by a friend ("... le soleil te fera du bien!"), where he finds only the Mistral blowing away his drawings, much rain, and the huge figure of Mussolini dressed up as Napoleon on the Italian border ("Vintimille - M...1"). The final drawing shows the illustrator hurrying back to Paris. Apparently unpublished. -and 23 signed drawings in pen and ink, finished as watercolours by the same, partly made in Marseille, a few in Solo (Indonesia) and Algiers, var. sizes, mounted on folio-sized lvs.
