This copy presented to art critic H.P. Bremmer. The author, true to his reputation for delay and perfectionism, had not completed this edition in time, thus manually corrected the printed date 'June 1902' to 'December 1902' Sm. folio. Roman à clef inspired by the affair between Mia Cuypers (daughter of Pierre Cuypers, architect of o.a. the Rijksmuseum) and the Chinese Frederic George Taen Err Toung, a relationship that caused a public scandal at the time.
