Venice, Alvise Bragadin, 1716. Complete in 24 leaves (48 p.) Bound in contemp. leather over boards (spine and edges worn), small folio (34 x 23 cm). Rare Venetian edition of the Passover Haggadah for the Sephardic rite, w. liturgy in both Hebrew and vernacular Ladino. Texts prepared by Rabbi Leon Modena (1571-1648). A profusely illustrated Haggadah, each page in an architectual woodcut border incorporating small naratives and ornaments, including the 13-panel sequence of the stages of the Seder, and the ten-panel depiction of the ten plagues.
Modern manuscript inscription on front pastedown, presenting this copy as a gift from M. Hooijer to his friend K. Veenhof in 1978, with a brief transl. of the title's year and place of publication at the bottom, erroneously dated 1715. A generally good copy of this rare publication.
