Utrecht, Prent 190, n.d. 1970. Silkscreen printed dark red on bright orange pvc sheet, with two cut-out shapes, 49.5 x 51 cm. Signed 'Lourdes Castro' and numbered '167/190', both scratched into the lower right margin. Moderate wrinkling to the plastic material, else in very good condition.

Lourdes Castro (1930 – 2022) was a prominent Portuguese artist. From 1962 onwards she worked on the theme of shadows in a variety of media, painting projected silhouettes of objects and people on canvas, plexiglass and fabric, and creating embroidered and cut-out shadow works.
