Ulay, pseudonym of Frank Uwe Laysiepen (1943-2020) was a pioneer of Polaroid photography and a key figure in performance and body art. Renown for his performances with Marina Abramovic in the 1970s to mid 1980s, his impressive solo oeuvre was often photography-based.
