Aller simple Nos. 1-3. Complete collection

Paris, Aller Simple, 1981/1982. Three softcover booklets, 25 x 17.5 cm, 72/ 64/ 120 pp., ills. in b/w and colour, printed on a variety of papers. Striking graphic design by Hubert Tonka, with original artists' designed covers for each copy. Printed in an announced print run of 1,000 copies, though this figure is probably fictitious.

'Aller Simple' explores art, architecture, and daily life in the radical and anti-establishment spirit that inspired the magazine Utopie. Features articles (in French) and exquisitely printed artists' contributions from the members of the Utopie group including Hubert Tonka, Jean Aubert, Isabelle Auricoste, Jean Baudrillard and Jean-Paul Jungmann. Additional contributions by Helen Arnold, François Billard, Daniel Blanchard, Boisard, Jean-Pierre Burgart, Fox, Clarisse Herrenschmidt, Olivier Pagès and Alain Vulbeau. The cover of No. 1 features an original airbrushed and stencilled work by Boisard; the cover of No. 2 is an original ink piece by Boisard; the cover of No. 3 is a collectively made original goauche after Jean Hélion. Very good copies. (total 3)
