[Asia] Paper Kimono. Singapore, ca. 1930
kimono with a length of 120 cm., the inside is lined with uncoloured paper and the outside is made of shining, purple-red paper with floral design; on the front and back at ribbon height is an extra cut-out figure in gold paper pasted on a red paper square, 20 x 20 cm., on the front with a light impairment, on the back the figure has been kept in perfect condition.
These kimonos were used during the Chinese New Year and were usually thrown away after use; this is an unused copy, rare.
