Roy Adzak. Collages with peas and peanuts, 1975-1977
Two original collages on cards, sent as New Year greeting card to Guy Schraenen. (1) Green Peas on Earth, 1975. Ink, earth, glue and peas on cardboard, 15 x 11 cm. Signed in lower right. Handwritten text on rear. In very good condition. (2) Pea-Nuts on Earth (La Crise Economique), 1977. Ink, earth, glue and peanuts on cardboard, 15.5 x 11 cm. Signed in lower right. Handwritten text on rear. Copy with natural aging, peanuts are shriveled, one peanut with mould.
British artist Roy Adzak (1927-1987) was a photographer, sculptor and assemblage artist best known for his plant and animal dehydrations and his Anthropometric Man series. He made several artists' books with the Belgian gallerist/publisher Guy Schraenen, including 'Deshydrations' (1976) (a study about the dehydration of vegetables). (total 2)
