Guy Schraenen. Mail Art projects 1981-1982

(1-13 ) Collection of ephemera regarding the Antwerp International Mail Art Festival curated by Guy Schraenen at the International Cultural Centre (ICC) from 25 September - 1 November 1981. Comprising 3 announcement flyers (some in original mailed envelopes); 2 flyers folded into paper airplanes by Pier van Dijk; 2 postcards with original stamps; an artists' project for the festival consisting of a 'surprise' envelope; 2 labels with perforation hole and red string, featuring stamped project information on recto, and stamp of Schraenen's Archive for Small Press & Communication on verso; postcard and yellow flyer for Aeropus I, a sound and mail art project organized by Schraenen as part of the festival. Also included is a postcard with original contribution by Guy Schraenen for a mail art project organised simultaneously by Bart Boumans.

(16) Folded poster showing artists' postage stamps published by Libellus, with original stamp of Schraenen dated '12 Oct. 1981'. (17-18) Guy Schraenen, Mail (Art) Stamps and treated stamps. Antwerp, Archive for Small Press & Communication, 1982. Staplebound catalogue, 21.5 x 15.5 cm, 16 pp. Published in conjunction with the exhibition on artists' stamps held at the Postmuseum in Brussels from 11 February to 7 March 1982.
