Dulieu, Jean (1921-2006) Marionette “The Schoolmaster”, 1956

Ceramic marionette with cloth and various other materials. Created by Jean Dulieu in 1956 and used in the children’s television series De Mallemolen (1956–1957), in the episode Koning Noppie en de Schoolmeester (“King Noppie and the Schoolmaster”). Height 36 cm.

The original stool and lectern belong with the marionette and were later reused in the Paulus the Woodgnome puppet series, in the episode Het Konijnenhuwelijk (“The Rabbit Wedding”), broadcast by the NTS on 29 December 1968.
