*Catharina Alberdingk Thijm (1848 - 1908), sister of Karel Joan Lodewijk Alberdingk Thijm (pseud. Lodewijk van Deijssel), was an active literary figure who ran several magazines, published 36 novels and over 1500 newspaper articles. She also directed a shelter for homeless women and their children in Amsterdam (1895 - 1900).
