[Aviation. Photomontage] Koretsky, Viktor (1909-1998). USSR! Strenghten Civil Aviation!
Moscow, Ogiz-Izogiz, 1933. Lithograph, 100 x 69 cm. Viktor Koretsky was one of the pioneers in the use of photography in graphic design. This propaganda poster shows his mastery over the technique. Koretsky p. 36: "The poster depicts some of the benefits of civil aviation: crop dusting, parachuting (and thus civil defense), the dissemination of information, and passenger transport ... while the bulk of this image consists of hand-drawn graphics, the two pilots are clearly derived from photographs and the landscape emulates aerial photography." Mounted on Japanese.
Slightly faded. Some loss of image in top left corner, vague waterstain along left edge and a few other sm. tears and imperfections all expertly restored.
