Complete set, with matching decorated cover; 384 p., illustrated with ca. 250 original wood engravings and woodcuts, of which 48 full-page outside text; 6 plates missing (p.129 (Millet), 197 (Schwabe), 290 (Rodin), 336 (Daumier), 356 (Perrichon), 364 (Rodin)); covers sl. frayed, often loose, several issues loose, spines worn, cover no. 1 missing bits from top corner and spine, small signs of use. Despite shortcomings beautiful set.
