Two engravings from a series of 8 (incl. title) dep. personifications of the planets, both ca. 30 x 21 cm, after Maerten de Vos (I) (1531/32-1603), numb. 6 and 7 in lower r. corner, the names of the Gods at the top, and 2-line Latin text below the image, mounted at upper corners under passepartouts. Good impressions, print 7 w. unidentified watermark, both w. good margins. The sheet dep. Saturn w. crack in upper half (paper flaw) w. smoothed-out folds and creases, the other leaf w. central horizontal fold, both lvs w. sm. closed marg. tears and remnants of former mount verso. Hollstein (A. Collaert) 1304 and Hollstein (De Vos) 1371, only state (only the series title indicates the edition, either Gerard de Jode or Claes Jansz. Visscher. With: (3) J. Collaert (II) (1561/66-1628). Unicorn hunt. Engraving, 19 x 26 cm, after Jan van der Straet (1523-1605), signed "Ioan. Collaert sculp." and w. address "Phls. Galle excud." in lower margin, w. 4-line Latin text below the image, mounted at upper corners under passepartout. Very fine impression on paper w. unidentified watermark, w. very good margins. Hollstein (J. Collaert) 1510 and Hollstein (Stradanus) 314, first state (pf 3). -and 1 other by Cornelis Drebbel (1572-1633) (lacking the text strip below the image).
